Checklist of Proven Habits of a Successful Trader

1. Pre-Trade Preparation

Do I have a well-defined trading plan for this trade?

Is the market condition in line with my strategy?

Have I identified key levels (Support, Resistance, Supply, Demand, Swing Highs or Lows)?

Have I analyzed the higher timeframe for context? (H4, H1)

Is the risk per trade between 0.20% to 0.50% of my account?

Have I set a stop-loss at a logical level (e.g., Swing High/Low, Above SZ or Below DZ)?

Does the trade offer a favorable risk-to-reward ratio (at least 1:1)?

Am I emotionally balanced and not over-excited or fearful about this trade?

2. During the Trade

Am I following my trading plan exactly, without second-guessing?

Is my stop-loss properly placed, and have I avoided moving it emotionally?

Am I prepared for the outcome without being attached to it?

Am I managing the trade according to my strategy Partials or Fixed TP & SL)?

Am I controlling my emotions (Staying Patient, Disciplined, and Objective)?

3. Post-Trade Reflection

Did I follow my trading plan from start to finish?

Did I remain disciplined and avoid impulsive decisions?

Did I record this trade in my trading journal (entry, exit, reasoning, result)?

What went well in this trade?

What could have been improved?

Have I reviewed whether I managed risk properly?

Am I emotionally neutral about the result, avoiding overconfidence or frustration?

4. Continuous Improvement

Have I been consistent with my trading strategy over time?

Am I regularly reviewing my journal to identify patterns and areas for improvement?

Am I staying up-to-date with market conditions and adapting if necessary?

Am I continuing to educate myself and refine my strategy?

5. Psychological Balance

Am I maintaining a healthy work-life balance, ensuring mental and physical well-being?

Am I managing stress and staying focused on long-term success, not just short-term results?

Am I staying emotionally detached from individual trades?
